Pfunzo Consulting and Finance Training Services was founded by Patrick Khethani and our main business is to provide financial solutions through consulting and finance training. We also offer private tutoring to post graduate students who are doing MBA, MBL, MSc in finance and Bcom honours.

Pfunzo focuses on specialized finance namely Corporate or Managerial Finance, Investment Derivatives, Risk Management, International Minancial Management and Project Finance.

Patrick Khethani

Qualifications: BSc Eng (Mech.) (University of Cape Town); Government Certificate of Competency in mechanical engineering (GCC); MBA (University of Pretoria) and MSc in Finance (Major: Financial Sector Management) from the University of London (UK). Bachelors of Laws ( LLB) University of Witwatersrand

Profile Summary

Patrick started his career in the mining industry at De Beers Consolidated Mines. After obtaining an engineering degree he was appointed at Finsch De Beers diamond mine as a junior mechanical engineer, where he was involved in plant maintenance as well as scheduling of maintenance in the diamond processing plant. He then moved to SABMiller in Polokwane (Pietersburg) plant as a management trainee, where he was involved in beer production and packaging as well as maintenance of the plant. He also spent some time at SASOL Secunda as a Plant mechanical engineer in a gas processing plant. In 2003 Patrick made a career change into the world of finance where he joined Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) of South Africa as a Business Analyst and later became Senior Account Manager/ Deal maker in the mining department. He has more than 15 years’ experience in corporate finance, Deal making, Project funding and finance training. His expertise is in deal making, business finance structuring, financial analysis and risk analysis. At the IDC he was involved in credit risk analysis and financial structuring of the mining and Minerals resources beneficiation deals as well as mining projects. His area of focus was to help the IDC to source businesses and projects that fit into IDC funding criteria which is mainly funding acquisitions, assets finance, debt funding, expansion finance and project finance. Patrick also worked for one year at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) as Project finance, Senior Investment officer. The role at DBSA was to assess the financial viability of the projects and their economic impact to South African economy and recommend the viable funding model / structure. In 2011 he founded a company called Pfunzo consulting (Pty Ltd, a company that is focusing on providing consulting in corporate and project finance as well as finance training. He have provided training and teaching for Corporate finance, International finance, Strategic finance and Basic accounting (Cost accounting and financial accounting) to post graduate students mainly MBA, MBL, CIMA and BCom honours students.

We have provided project funding advisory, deal structuring and investment monitoring for the Technology Innovation Agency.
We have offered training on Financial statement analysis to the board of directors of TETA. Pfunzo Consulting has provided a course to interpret and analyzed Financial Statements for the purpose of providing debtors insurance to the Credit Guarantee company. We are also providing finance mentorship and business advisory programmes to Sasria managers and Egolibio enterprenuers.
